Who we are

ACCORD Corporation, a long-standing 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Action Agency (CAA) established in 1972, is dedicated to delivering a broad range of essential programs that support individuals and families facing economic challenges. Operating under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which remains a cornerstone of efforts to strengthen communities, ACCORD Corporation plays a crucial role in enhancing economic stability and self-sufficiency. With approximately $7 million in annual grant funding, our commitment in Allegany County extends across a wide range of initiatives designed to create meaningful, lasting impact.

Our services provide critical assistance to meet fundamental needs, including emergency and supplemental food, utility arrears aid, household and personal care items, and transportation support (gas or bus cards). We also offer assistance for individuals facing domestic violence, housing aid for those experiencing homelessness or at risk, and rental support for financially vulnerable families. Additionally, we support homebuyers and homeowners, offer Head Start and Early Head Start programs, provide child care assistance for families and providers, and facilitate small business development programs. With a focus on strengthening individuals, families, and the community, our initiatives are tailored to address varied needs, fostering long-term stability and opportunity.
